FAQs
What will happen when I contact you?
We will find a time to have an initial session together. Whether you want to have online or face to face sessions, the session will be set up in that way. This initial session will last for a full 50 minutes, (the length any ongoing sessions would be). The session gives you a chance to experience how counselling might be for you, giving you a chance to ask any questions you might have and to talk about what brings you to therapy. I will also explain how I work as a therapist and we will be able to see if working together might be something we would like to do. I will charge for the session at half my normal rate. After the initial session we can book a regular date to continue those sessions.
How much are the sessions?
Initial sessions are priced at £30 and any ongoing sessions will be charged at £60 per 50 minute session. There are some concessionary rates available, please just ask.
Where do sessions take place?
I have rooms in both Hove and Lindfield, near Haywards Heath and also offer sessions online. Please scroll down for further location information.
Are our sessions confidential?
Everything we discuss within our sessions will be treated as confidential, with the following limitations:
I work within the BACP ethical framework for good practice, and therefore undertake professional supervision for my work. The aim of this is to monitor and improve my clinical work. All my supervision is done on a confidential basis and I only use your initials or first name.
In exceptional circumstances, if I have good grounds for believing that you may cause serious harm to yourself or others, or where I am compelled by a court of law, our confidentiality agreement may be broken. I would always make every effort to discuss this with you first.
Therapy is not ‘one size fits all’.
The delivery of therapy is not ‘one size fits all’; choose to have your sessions online or face to face in my practice rooms in Hove or Haywards Heath.
